In the Long Silence, new monsters have shown their faces, from wasteland mutants to zealous fascists—no corner of the world is truly safe. Grab your team and get ready to fight your way through the shattered surface of Vian. Dark, but not hopeless: you will find your reason to keep going in this strange new world.
Era of Silence is built on a roll-low dice pool system called Thorne, designed to allow different characters to excel at the same task in different situations. Mixed with an interlocking Trait system, the game heavily emphasizes teamwork in a traditional RPG format.
A streamlined character creation process offers over 15,000+ possible character combinations but can be chosen from in a single sitting. Play a thief with a penchant for machines, a mage with a military background, a combat alchemist, and more! Then grab gear that utilizes a Template + Mod system. With just a few choices, a standard weapon turns into a trademark with its own twists and effects.
The core of the game is focused on combat. A Stamina focused action mechanic and a State system allow for tactical freedom in a way that's intuitive for both the Narrator and Protagonist Characters. An HPless damage mechanic creates an intense atmosphere where every shot feels lethal and keeps combats short.
The world of Vian is a chemipunk future fantasy setting written by R. Val and Moss Sugarmountains. The book features full-color art by Moss Sugarmountains and Willabee. With layout by F. Dan O'Neill.

Hello all!
A quick update here. As expected we released Era of Silence today! On top of that, every backer who was supposed to receive an email from BackerKit with a download link to their copy of the game and the character sheet. Check your email for an email with the subject "New Digital Content for Era of Silence, A Chemipunk TTRPG on BackerKit." If you were expecting a digital copy of the game and didn't get this, please get in contact with us so we can make that right.
If you're waiting on other digital rewards, don't worry! BackerKit will allow us to roll them out as they're completed. As stated in the last update, expect these next month.
This has been a long time coming, nearly 3 years of work for us. We brought it to life because of your help and we truly hope you enjoy the finished product. The team is going to take a day or two off to rest, but we'll be back with an update soon and will continue to be in regular communication until each reward is filled.

State of Era of Silence: One Week til Release!

Hello all!
We want to apologize for the radio silence. We're all deep in the work of bringing Era of Silence to release. Something we couldn't have done without you, and thank you again for that. We hope you all are enjoying the start to your Autumn season. This is a comprehensive update to let you know where we are with the game and the rewards. The art we're inserting are covers for modules by Era of Silence artist Moss Sugarmountains!

The Game
We expected to get the finished copy of the game to you all in the first week of September. Some late feedback came in and we decided it was best to integrate it. So digital copies will be distributed to Backers on release day. We release Era of Silence in 7 days, September 27th 2022.
On that day we'll have download keys distributed for itch.io (no account required) and we're hoping to have the DriveThruRPG set up by then but it might be a couple days behind. This will include the key for the game itself and a character sheet. More on other content in the Other Digital Rewards part of this update!

The modules are written and currently in the layout portion. We're expecting to have 10 Minutes to North Point and Ocellaris ready upon release. Outpost on Grey River, Argent Team: Ziyo Point, and the Moss created module Sins of Dreams will be rolling out over the course of October. The extra rules, Narrator's Screen, and character sheet will be available for download on release day. The extra rules and Narrator's Screen are being combined into a document we're calling Twists and Tools!

Print
We were hoping the printing situation overseas would have improved by now. Unfortunately, the printer we were going to use seems to have a severe backup and the price changes have ceased to make it a particularly viable option. This means we're going to try to print domestically and eat the extra cost that comes with that. We fully intend to fulfill our print and worldwide shipping promises, though it may take longer than we anticipated. At the moment we're hoping to have print copies mailing out in December. If anything changes or delays we will let you know immediately.

Thankfully, we have a lot more control over the miniatures situation because we're using Shrike Tabletop's own printers for this part. Expect these by December for sure, likely earlier. For the few of you waiting for ornaments, we will certainly have them out by the holiday season. The first batch were destroyed in an accident at the post office, so Willa has had to remake them.

Hey all!
R. Val here. Just writing to let you know we're taking feedback on the preview book for one week more, ending on August 26th. Then we're going to take the feedback we've gotten, make some changes (color balance, alt text, hyperlink visibility, etc), and distribute the final book! If you haven't gotten a preview copy already, the download link is here:
Around 9pm August 26th we're going to close downloads, get the store page ready for the public, and we'll get Backer copies to you all in the first couple weeks of September! Digital first, as we sort out some printing stuff.

R. Val here with an exciting update. The Era of Silence pre-release draft is ready. Now we're sending it out to a few sources and of course to everyone in the $15+ backer range. *THESE ARE NOT YOUR BACKER REWARD* but just a semi-final draft which we'll be taking some feedback on. Backer copies are expected by end of August (see below Roadmap)

So here's where we stand with our plans as of now:
Roadmap
Early August: Preview copies are distributed, and a final round of feedback is taken. Marketing for Era of Silence's release picks up. Copies are sent off to a few printers for tests.
Late August: Final edits are made and backer digital rulebooks are distributed to those receiving them.
September 27th: Era of Silence releases! Most digital rewards will be fulfilled by this point (possible exceptions might be the Moss Sugarmountains written module and custom character art). Test prints are received and the printer is selected.
Late 2022: Optimistically late Fall but possibly early Winter we'll have the backer print copies mailing out! Other physical rewards are in the same time window.
