Era of Silence, A Chemipunk TTRPG

Created by Shrike Tabletop

1000 years ago, the gods left us. 400 years ago, our world was buried in ash. Now, we rely on alchemy and each other to survive. This is the Era of Silence In the Long Silence, new monsters have shown their faces, from wasteland mutants to zealous fascists—no corner of the world is truly safe. Grab your team and get ready to fight your way through the shattered surface of Vian. Dark, but not hopeless: you will find your reason to keep going in this strange new world. Era of Silence is built on a roll-low dice pool system called Thorne, designed to allow different characters to excel at the same task in different situations. Mixed with an interlocking Trait system, the game heavily emphasizes teamwork in a traditional RPG format. A streamlined character creation process offers over 15,000+ possible character combinations but can be chosen from in a single sitting. Play a thief with a penchant for machines, a mage with a military background, a combat alchemist, and more! Then grab gear that utilizes a Template + Mod system. With just a few choices, a standard weapon turns into a trademark with its own twists and effects. The core of the game is focused on combat. A Stamina focused action mechanic and a State system allow for tactical freedom in a way that's intuitive for both the Narrator and Protagonist Characters. An HPless damage mechanic creates an intense atmosphere where every shot feels lethal and keeps combats short. The world of Vian is a chemipunk future fantasy setting written by R. Val and Moss Sugarmountains. The book features full-color art by Moss Sugarmountains and Willabee. With layout by F. Dan O'Neill. --- Era of Silence comes with the full core rulebook and printable character sheets (Form fillable coming soon). Release September 27th!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Week 1 and Black Friday, 65% Funded!
about 3 years ago – Fri, Nov 26, 2021 at 10:44:59 AM

Hey all! Robin here.

Checking in to say thanks so much for your support. We're getting closer every day and we're confident we're going to make our goal. We just wanted to send out a couple updates.

Holiday Bundle Special!

If you or a loved one backs the game today (11/26) or tomorrow (11/27), you can choose one of our limited time Holiday backer tiers. These give you a copy of the game (either digital or hardcover, depending on the tier), a custom Era of Silence miniature by The Makers Cult, and a Shrike Tabletop bulb ornament by Willa Coenen. If you already backed but you want a mini (or an extra) and the ornament, adding on the holiday bundle is easy! When you go to our Kickstarter page, click "Manage my pledge", then click "change my pledge", select the tier you're already backing, then click the Holiday Bundle add-on. It adds 5 and shipping to your pledge, and then you have the Holiday bundle!

Era of Silence Miniatures Add-On

In addition to the limited time Holiday Bundle, we're also adding Era of Silence miniatures as an add-on. These custom miniatures are the product of The Makers Cult. For an additional $10, an extra miniature will be added to your order! Just follow the same process listed above to add that on to your order (but for these next two days, the Holiday bundle is the better deal). Miniatures are customized by a survey and then sent to you to paint.

$45 Book Tier Backers Get Stretch Goals

This is a clarification of a clerical error more than anything. We always intended Book tier backers to get any unlocked stretch goals (additional rewards if we meet financial marks after our initial goal). We can't update the description anymore, but you don't need to do anything if you're at this tier. We can simply just send out any stretch rewards to you if we fund them.

And hey, thank you!

Era of Silence in Media, Rewards Clarification, and Stretch Goals
about 3 years ago – Mon, Nov 22, 2021 at 09:12:01 AM

Hey gang!

A real quick update here. We have a lot of links to various shows we've been and reviews of Era of Silence. We posted them all in their own section on the Story.

Thanks to some great feedback we realized that we didn't clarify what the stretch goals for the project were nor how certain rewards worked. A Stretch Goals section has been added and we restructured the rewards section somewhat.

Of course, if you have a question, always feel free to ask! We can't do this without you, so we want you to be able to make an informed decision.

Thanks and I hope you have a great weekend,

48 Hours In! 47% Funded, International Shipping, and More
about 3 years ago – Thu, Nov 18, 2021 at 10:00:07 AM

Thank you!

Hey friends! Robin Belle here. From all of us at Shrike Tabletop, thank you so much for helping us have such a successful launch. We're about halfway funded with 28 days left to go, a good sign.  We're taking some time to rest and take a breather from campaign prep before we get back to playtesting and production!

International Shipping

We talked about it a little behind the scenes, and decided so many of our friends are international that it would be unfair not to offer shipping outside of the US. Canada, UK, and US shipping get reduced rates, simply because of our shipping service. We kept shipping as low as we could for the rest of the world. If you were wanting a hardcover Era of Silence book or one of the minis, this is your chance!

What Now?

We get back to work and keep promoting the game! Era of Silence is going to be on two upcoming shows which we'll post here and on our Twitter and Facebook. If you want to see the game in action or show it to your friends sooner, listen to our episode with the Role Less Taken Podcast! We run a session for them.

Part 1

Part 2

Otherwise, wait for updates from us! We'll let you know any time we clear a major milestone. Of course, don't forget to share with your friends! Word of mouth is almost always the most effective form of advertising for any product, and it's your goodwill and sharing of the game that gets more eyes on Era of Silence!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
